? ? ? OMG, IT’S NOAH’S LAST DAY!!! ???????????☹️ If you didn’t know, Noah was an McGill social work intern. We just wanted to take a moment to show off some of the great work Noah did at P10 :

– Created a guide on how to change your name and gender marker & what steps to follow AFTER your change has come through (available in EN & FR)
– Updated our HRT & Surgeries guide
-Gathered referrals for folks seeking autism diagnoses
-Helped prep and facilitate a workshop for teachers accommodating trans students
-Updated an info-sheet on finding trans friendly therapists
-Organized and wrote up notes from our transitioning Q & A drop-in w/ Dr. Bui-Nguyen

And of course, Noah was there at drop-in, on the phone?☎️, answering e-mails? and meeting you one-on-one?. In total Noah spend 400 hours with all of us (aka 4X?) ? ?! THANKS SO MUCH NOAH FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT! BEST OF LUCK WITH YOUR NEXT ENDEAVOURS! ??????? ????

Project 10 is looking for a Project Coordinator.

This offer is for a one-year position at 20 hours/week.

Who we are:

Project 10 works to promote the personal, social, sexual, and mental well-being of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, two-spirit, intersex, and questioning youth and adults 14-25. Through advocacy and education, using a harm reduction approach, Project 10 aims to facilitate the empowerment of youth at individual, community, and institutional levels with a particular emphasis on supporting individuals and groups who experience multiple and intersecting oppressions. Services are free of charge, confidential and anonymous, and are offered in English and French.

Who we are looking for:
Project 10 is excited to be launching new programming geared towards Black, Indigenous and youth of color with ties to gender and sexual minority identities. The hired employee will support QTBIPOC youth in producing an arts- or digital media- based oral history project (broadly defined) exploring QTBIPOC histories in Montréal. Through conducting research and interviews with community members, the employee and youth will co-create a product that can be shared with the general public. Through participating in creating this project, the youth will build intergenerational community connections as well as leadership and technical arts or media skills.

The ideal candidate is someone who has experience with LGBTQIA and BIPOC communities and a strong understanding of harm-reduction, empowerment-based community practice, and youth-led programming. This person should be able to think and work collectively, but also be self-motivated and self-directed when leading a project. We would like the final project to be tailored to skills of the hired person; therefore we are interested in receiving applications from people with diverse arts and digital media skills. Applicants should briefly specify in their cover letter how they see their particular skills in these areas being used towards the desired outcome.

Project 10 conducts hiring on the basis of employment equity. Employment equity is designed to compensate for the non-existence of a level playing field with regards to people’s experiences and job qualifications, given the structural injustices that affect marginalized groups. These groups include but are not limited to: Black, Indigenous, racialized, People of Colour, mixed-race, migrant, trans, gender nonconforming, people with (dis)ability/ies*, working class, HIV+,  women, LGBTQ, and asexual identities. Project 10 also encourages those that are near our age mandate (14-25) apply. (Unfortunately, those under 18 are not eligible, nor are current or recent P-10 service users.)

Job Responsibilities:
QTBIPOC Programming (90%):
* Design an oral history project that will be youth-led and arts-based
* Deliver the project with the support of QTBIPOC youth
* Coordinate details of the programming including activities, guests, foods, and volunteers
* Manage the budget and cashflow of the programming (with support from the Fundraising & Administration Co-coordinator)
* Support with fundraising requests for the program as requested
* Recruit and support QTBIPOC youth to participate in the project
* Oversee and attend finissage event
* Lead the evaluation process to support next iterations of QTBIPOC youth programming at P10
* Build and maintain relationships with partners in LGBTQIA and BIPOC communities as well as artists and media makers

Support  Work (10%)
* Provide support and advocacy to LGBTQ+ youth 14-25, parents, and professionals in person, by phone and internet using anti-oppression, harm-reduction, and active listening skills
* Develop and facilitate workshops and presentations with P10 co-coordinators or interns
* Share day-to-day office responsibilities with the co-coordinators

Required Skills and Experience:
* Strong experience in program design and delivery, especially arts-based and/or youth-led programming
* Significant relationships to Black, Indigenous, and people of color communities
* Fluent in French and English (spoken & written)
* Knowledge of LGBTQ youth realities, as well as knowledge of intersectionality, anti-oppression, harm-reduction
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Experience working mostly autonomously and collaboratively with a small team, as well as partnering with other organizations
* 3 years work experience or studies in a related domain

* Knowledge of QTBIPOC histories and organizing in Montréal
* Knowledge of diverse religious & racialized communities in Montréal
* Fluency in languages other than English/French

Compensation and contract details:

Salary begins at $20.15/hour with annual indexation. Employees are eligible for health days, vacation, and 1000$ annually in health and wellness expenses.

 This contract is for one year with possibility of renewal depending on funding capacity.

meet our interns!

Hey folks.

Noah’s the name, social work is the game. Well not the game, the program actually. So yeah basically I’m a second year social work student at McGill University and an intern here at P10 until April 2017. I’m developing my skills in social service access related to benefits, services, and transition specific stuff. My favourite colour is turquoise.
