Project 10 is looking for a fundraising and administrative coordinator. This offer is for a permanent position at 20 hours a week.
Project 10 encourages people who identify as indigenous, racialized, People of Colour, trans, gender non-conforming, people with (dis)ability(es)*, working class, HIV+, migrant, women, queer, lesbian, bisexual, asexual in particular to apply. Project 10 encourages those that are near our age mandate (14-25) apply. (Unfortunately, those under 18 are not eligible, nor are current or recent P-10 service users.) Project 10 seeks someone who has excellent French skills, with the ability to work in English as needed. (*Project 10 is not located in a wheelchair accessible space, but in progress)
Who are we:
Project 10 works to promote the personal, social, sexual and mental well being of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, two-spirit, intersex and questioning youth and, adults 14-25. Through advocacy and education, using a harm reduction approach, Project 10 aims to facilitate the empowerment of youth at individual, community, and institutional levels with a particular emphasis on supporting individuals and groups who experience multiple and intersecting oppressions. Services are free of charge, confidential and anonymous, and are offered in English and French.
The employee will be in charge of all Project 10 fundraising. Using the “Fundraising for Social Change” approach, the employee will develop and implement fundraising strategies (donor relations, event planning, grant writing).
The employee will actively lead private donor campaigns, and support Board and stakeholder participation.
Financial and Administrative Management (30%):
The employee is responsible for the financial planning and management of the organization
The employee coordinates “end of year,” and is responsible for maintaining administrative records.
The employee shares day-to-day office responsibilities with the Co-coordinator
Support Work (10%)
Provide support and advocacy to LGBTQ+ youth 14-25, parents, and professionals in person, by phone and internet working using anti-oppression, harm-reduction, and active listening
Develop and facilitate workshops and presentations with co-coordinator or interns
Skills and Experience:
- Experience and enthusiasm with fundraising (with emphasis on donor based fundraising), familiarity with “Fundraising for Social Change.”
- Excellent French skills (written, spoken), ability to function in English (written, spoken)
- Familiarity with grant writing and researching process
- Experience in non-profit financial management
- Knowledge of LGBTQ youth realities, as well as knowledge of intersectionality, anti-oppression, harm-reduction
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Experience working autonomously and collaboratively with a small team, as well as partnering with other organizations
- Experience with Nationbuilder (an asset)
- 3 years work experience or studies in a related domain
Salary begins at 19.37 $/hour with annual indexation. Employees are eligible for health days, vacation, and 1000$ annually in health and wellness expenses.
