My name is Kama La Mackerel and I am a poet, performer, story-teller and arts facilitator as well as being a long-term worker in the community sector. Over the years, I have developed extensive material and training on anti-oppression, anti-racism, decolonization, consensus and facilitation, while facilitating arts-based practices through community initiatives.
I am excited to be bringing all these skills and experiences to the P10 team as the project coordinator for the QTBIPOC history project. The project will offer arts development and training as well as mentorship to QTBIPOC youth in Montreal. Through this project, we not only intend to create inter-generational conversations, but we also seek to build an archive of QTBIPOC history as reflected through the art practices of our youth. It should be a lot of fun, and there will be more information about our first summer mentorship program to follow very soon!
