Videoqueer Launch: 4 videos on queer resistance in Montreal

Wednesday Nov. 27, 2013

Café l’Artère (7000 ave du Parc), 18h à 21h

For the launch of these video capsules, Videoqueer invites you to join us for a panel on organizing queer event series in Montreal, followed by a screening of short films we have produced and an open discussion about our communities.

Videoqueer is a joint initiative with Project 10 and Radical Queer Semaine financed by the Bureau de lutte contre l’homophobie. Since, as we know, things don’t just “get better” on their own, our goal is to explore ideas on autonomous organizing for youth of all sexual orientations and gender identities whose voices need to be heard. Filmed during Pervers/cité 2012 and Radical Queer Semaine 2013, these capsules are intended as tools for action and as a record of several inquiries and issues that have been a concern for our communities.

The launch will take place on Wednesday, November 27 at Café l’Artère starting at 6PM.

Program for the evening:

6PM: Welcome and panel

7PM: Screening of video capsules

– “How to do a flash demo”

– “Genderization through movement”

– “Resistance/Residency”

– “Challenges of organizing a queer festival (RQS)”

8PM: Facilitated open discussion (bilingual)
