Sensory Sensitivies
The P10 space strives to be a scent-free environment. Scented products such as perfume/cologne, hairspray and deodorant can trigger reactions such as respiratory distress and headaches as per Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety. Out of respect for staff and participants, we kindly ask that you refrain from using scented products before entering the space.
Primarily, scented products are used in the space for cleaning purposes on Sunday mornings.
Certain drop-in spaces may have loud noises / music. During these times, P10 can provide noise cancelling devices such as ear plugs.
Project 10 is climate controlled and the temperature in the space can be controlled manually.
During drop-in and events, the front room is reserved as a quiet space for participants who may be feeling overwhelmed during their time in the space. If you feel as though you need some support, active listening volunteers are readily available during events and drop-in times - PENDING designation and poster for this area, as approved by team/ asterisk.
Project 10 also supplies various sensory devices or stim toys for individuals who seek extra sensory stimulation whilst in the space.
