Active Listening

At Project 10, we offer active listening sessions, free of judgment, and pressure. Active listening sessions are different from therapy sessions, as our coordinator isn’t a therapist or social worker, instead tools like peer support are used. Since our staff are all 2LGBTQ+ people, you can trust that there is a level of understanding in our meetings, and that honesty and vulnerability are honoured. Above all, these sessions are made to offer a warm and welcoming space for a participant to have a conversation, ask questions, get support or just talk/rant about whatever they please and to get things ‘off their shoulders’ so to speak. There are so many things that can be covered in these sessions, and even if the topic doesn’t feel specific to the 2LGBTQ+ community, we still encourage you to bring up whatever is on your mind at the meeting.

Our coordinator is able to offer a maximum of 8 active listening sessions per participant, as well as a structured follow up and often connection to other services internal or external to Project 10.

Clothing & Makeup Exchange

Clothing & Makeup Exchange

Here at Project 10, you can drop by our clothing exchange to pick up clothes and make-up for free! Do not hesitate to visit us during our opening hours to check out our stock.

For many people, the gender expression, including clothing and makeup are very important parts of identity. This is especially true for queer and trans folks! At Project 10, we know that for many young 2LGBTQIAP+ people, they can’t always access the resources they need to fully express themselves. For this reason, and in the spirit of solidarity and sharing, we have set up a clothing exchange to allow young people to have access to clothes and makeup and to encourage creativity in their expression of identity.

Food

Food

A full, free meal is available at the majority of our activities and events. As well, our freezer is stocked with pre-made meals and snacks which participants are welcome to take home.

We are able to provide this service thanks to our volunteers, the People's Potato and Midnight Kitchen.
